Come Holy Spirit!!!

It has been a really hard week finding out our pastor, Fr Steve, is leaving for a new parish and school. I know God is good and has the best plans for Fr Steve and our parish but it just feels like we are losing a family member.  And It is a great loss!  Sienna thinks he came back when she saw him at Tuesday night mass, I didn't even know she was aware of the situation!! lol
So As the girls were doing their craft for Pentecost,  I realized that the Holy Spirit did come and will continue to pour out Grace upon our church family.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
V. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created.
R. And You shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Happiness for a girl.. Umbrella!

Ava wanted to buy an umbrella yesterday with her own money!  She was so thrilled with her purchase and can not wait until it rains!  She wanted me to show her the weather forecast on the computer.   It is so sweet to see her enjoy her femininity!  I am recalling how an umbrella, on several occasions, caused me such girly joy!! I think it is because my memories are attached to my Mom.   One time she made me a pink and lacy parasol! (She really made it!!)

Ava's First Communion

May 5, 2012
Ava's First communion was such a joy filled day! It was such a blessing to know she would receive our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, His Body, blood, Soul and Divinity!! I was so happy to know her friends and family were praying for her, and so grateful to have so many attend her first communion. It was so great to see all the first communicants go to confession before mass to make sure their souls were clean and ready for the all the Grace Jesus wanted to give them.  It was such beautiful mass!  I loved having the sprinkling rite to remind them of their baptism.  (Gavin got a little more holy water during the Homily!)  Fr Steve gave a great homily to the kids and adults! Ava read her petition so well!! We are so proud of Ava for understanding and being ready for these great sacraments, Penance and Holy Eucharist. (Even a year early!)  I pray Ava will always stay close to Him!!
